Nanomed participated in the conference "Cardio Renalo Metabolic Syndrome: 2024 Updates," held at Rogner Hotel in Tirana on June 28-29, 2024. The conference brought together leading experts to discuss the latest developments in the field. The two-day event covered a broad range of topics related to obesity, metabolism, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, emphasizing the need for a multidisciplinary approach to treatment and prevention.
The first day of the conference focused on obesity and metabolism, highlighting global obesity issues, their impact on prevalence in Albania, and their association with cardiovascular diseases in diabetes. Evening sessions covered the DigiCare4You program, perceptions of nutrition and physical activity, as well as the impact of obesity on heart diseases.
The second day was dedicated to the interdisciplinary approach to cardio-renal metabolic syndrome, including a new multidisciplinary approach, collaborative long-term treatment strategies, and innovative therapies. Presentations addressed diabetes, chronic kidney diseases, the effects of semaglutide on insulin resistance and weight, early detection of microalbuminuria, and surgical strategies in treating obesity and type 2 diabetes.
A notable highlight of the conference was the presentation of the Sibionics GS1 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) sensor by colleague Dušan Radosavljević, showcasing advancements in diabetes management technology. The CGM sensor aims to provide real-time glucose monitoring, improving patient care and treatment outcomes.
The conference concluded with a summary of insights and discussions, emphasizing the importance of integrated approaches in tackling the complex cardio-renal-metabolic syndrome.
